North American B-25B Mitchell on the 11th April 1942 in the aftermath of the pearl harbour raid,
16 B-25B Mitchell bombers lifted off the relatively short deck of USS Hornet and set course for Tokyo.
Crewed by volunteers each man would become an American hero.
